BIG Fall Book Sale

The Friends of the Library are putting together another AMAZING Book Sale for the public to enjoy. All of the money raised at the Book Sale comes back to the library. These funds are used to encourage reading in the early literacy category. The Friends of the Library are also a huge source in funding the Summer Reading Program.

Thursday, October 18 9 AM – 8 PM
Friday, October 19 9 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday, October 20 9 AM – 1 PM ($1/Bag Day!)

Flu Clinic

Brought to you by the Borgess Community Flu Clinic
Thursday, September 27 from 10 AM – Noon

The Centers for Disease Control states that the best protection from the flu is the flu shot. The prime time to get vaccinated is in the fall. A variety of vaccines will be available at this flu clinic. The clinic will accept all Medicare Part B insurances as well as private insurance plans, except Medicaid. They also accept cash or check for anyone without insurance. Call (269) 324-8466 for questions and information.

STEAM Stations

Tuesdays at 4 PM
September 11 – November 13 (No meeting on October 16)
For Kindergarten – 5th Graders

Each week there will be several stations set up in the large program room for children to explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) concepts. Stations may include: Science Experiments, Technology Take-A-Parts, Building Creations, Art Design, and Math Games. Drop in each week and choose one or several stations to investigate and discover new STEAM related ideas.

Adult Coloring Club

2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at 2 PM

Join other coloring enthusiasts in the library tutor rooms. Participants will be able to share coloring tips and techniques while socializing with others. Many grown-ups are finding out what kids have known for years: coloring provides a relaxing, stress-relieving pastime — and it’s fun! All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.

Adult Strategic Game Night

The Crane Wives

The Crane Wives are an award-winning, home grown local indie/folk/Americana band that defies musical stereotypes. You won’t want to miss their performance! They utilize three-part vocal harmonies, eclectic instrumentation, and a passion for song-craft to create organic music that is both accessible and innovative.

Mid-Lakes Chorus “Sweet Adelines”
August 9

The Mid-Lakes Chorus is a membership organization of female singers who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. They currently have about 20 singers of all ages, all walks of life, and are from all parts of southwest Michigan.
