Tea Blending Workshop

History in Our Own Backyard – Michigan’s Amazing Stories

In this presentation, you’ll discover many little-known facts from within our state’s boundaries, including things right here in Allegan County.

A few highlights include why Michigan’s Great Seal is dated 1835, two years before we gained statehood; why there is a Michigan state highway that cars aren’t allowed on; and how Japan bombed two Michigan locations during WWII.

Jay Follis is a very entertaining presenter and has done extensive historical research.

Island Vibes Spring Break Events for Kids!

Luau LEGO Challenge
Monday, April 6 at 2 PM
Grades 3-12
Challenges will be given throughout the hour to make some awesome tropical creations using the Library’s LEGO collection!
(Note: this program is only for older kids and teens.)


Tropical Luau Party
Tuesday, April 7 from 10 AM-Noon
For Preschool – 5th Grade
Shake off the winter chill at this lively drop-in celebration filled with pirates, mermaids, and tropical fun! Enjoy exciting games, creative crafts, and special treats.


Beach Bingo
Wednesday, April 8 at 10 AM
For 4 year Old – 5th Grades
Play a fun game of Beach Bingo and win some cool prizes!


Moana 2 Movie
Thursday, April 9 at 10 AM
Fun for the whole Family!

Fun for the Whole Family!
Kids: Invite your favorite grown-up — Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or any special adult to join us for a painting party! Create something amazing by following along with our instructor for a guided design or let your imagination take over and paint whatever makes you smile. It’s the perfect chance to relax, get creative, and make some wonderful memories side by side with your special adult. This event is completely free, but spots are limited—be sure to register and save your place!

Shape your own ocean creatures using air-dry clay — whales, jellyfish, mermaids, or whatever drifts through your imagination.

Creative Café – Clay Earrings with Sheri Pott

Saturday, April 18 from 9 – Noon
(A third class will open Saturday, April 18 from 1 – 4 PM if these classes fill.)

Learn beginner-friendly techniques to make clay earrings. Participants will be able to create two pairs of handmade clay earrings from start to finish! You will choose from a variety of shapes and colors. You can find Sheri’s earrings and class information at Brookside Farms and Joy Farms.Class size is limited to 16 participants (ADULTS ONLY). The cost is $35 and pre-registration is required (nonrefundable). The cost covers the instruction of class, your finished products, and refreshments.

Libary Board Meeting

The Library Board of Trustees meets on a monthly basis to discuss library business and housekeeping. Meetings are open to the public and include a period of time for patrons to discuss comments and concerns.

These meetings are held once a month on Wednesdays at 5 PM.
