The library has the opportunity to present three amazing new material collections for patron use.
Board Game Section
The library has over 50 strategic board games that can be played in the library. Stop by the library, pick a game, and get your game on with your family and friends! Board games are to be played in the library only.
EZ-Reader Book Box Sets
Meet the Phonics and Meet the Sight Words Box Sets are available to check out. Meet the Phonics sets cover Blends, Digraphs, and Letter Sounds. While Meet the Sight Words slowly progress through Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Each box set comes with at least ten books for children to read and learn. These sets are great for early to mid-elementary students struggling with phonics or sight words.
Adult Graphic Novel Section
This new section is great for adults who love to read graphic novels but want something age appropriate. This section covers a range of graphic novels including: the Sarah’s Scribbles Collection, Tokyo Ghoul, The Walking Dead, and Graphic Classics. Check out for graphic novels is 3 weeks.
The start time of the January 17, 2019 board meeting has been adjusted to 5:30 PM for a presentation, with the regular board meeting immediately following.

Looking for a new job for the new year? The library will be hiring a part-time Administrative Assistant in January. Job posting is Dec 3 – Jan 3.
We are looking for a competent, computer savvy person (preferably with prior administrative skills) to assist the Library Director on tasks large and small as well as function in library clerk capacities. Approx.14 hours/week, with potential for more hours if flexible.

The Otsego District Library serves 14,230 residents with a budget of $518,000 and a staff of fifteen. Our Wonderland Supplies Wishlist is now available at the library. If you have anything on the list and would like to donate it to the library to help make Wonderland really wonderful this winter, bring it in anytime in the next couple months! Setup for the program begins in early December.(See the attached list for details on donations and what we need.)

The results are in at the library! The amazing volunteers from the Friends of the Library were able to raise $1183 at the Fall Book Sale!
All of the proceeds from the large books sales (spring and fall) and Twice Told Tales: Friends of the Library Book Store come back to the library and assist in various aspects of the library including programming, events, summer reading, and more.
A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all of the Friends of the Library Volunteers for helping make this book sale so successful. Another big thank you goes out to the Otsego High School Student Volunteers. The library would also like to thank our community and its visitors for donating books for purchase at these sales. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

The Otsego District Library is now accepting bids for plowing the entire library parking lot and salting the lot upon request. Plowing is requested for when there are 3 inches of snow or more. Please note price for plowing and salting separately in bid.
When needed, plowing must be done before library opens (9 AM Mon-Sat).
Also accepting bids for sidewalk shoveling: Shovel back staff walkway and areas in the front not plowed out by our snowplows (sidewalks out to the lot and front entry area). Spread salt on sidewalks when icy. Please submit a bid per time. This would be done on an as-needed basis and only upon request by the library.
