National Batman Day is Saturday, September 20! To celebrate, the library will have a scavenger hunt during that whole week. Come in any time the library is open, pick up a sheet at the desk, complete the hunt, and receive a special Batman prize!

Cardio drumming is a fun and low-impact fitness class that combines drumming with aerobic exercise. Participants use drumsticks to hit an exercise ball inside a bucket, following the rhythm of the music while incorporating movements. It’s a whole-body workout for all ages and fitness levels, even while sitting in a chair. Class sizes are limited to 20 participants, so sign up for one class only.

Drop in at the library to see cute animals! This petting zoo includes a miniature horse, miniature donkey, chickens, rabbits, sheep, goats, and more. The event will take place outside, but will be protected from the weather. This will be fun for the whole family!

We’re cracking open the crypt to bring you a wild night filled with nonstop thrills including pizza and refreshments to fuel your chaos, games and challenges that will test your courage, hide-and-seek in the dark (if you dare…), a legendary costume contest, and a tomb-load of CANDY that would make a pharaoh jealous!

50 years ago, the infamous Great Lakes freighter, SS Edmund Fitzgerald, sank on Lake Superior and it remains the largest Great Lakes shipwreck to this day. Revisit the life and death of this legendary ship during this presentation, which includes a 13-foot LEGO model of the ship! John Beck, who teaches history at Heritage Christian Academy in Kalamazoo, has done extensive research on the ship over the past 20+ years.
The program features history of the ship’s construction, notable moments during the Fitzgerald’s tenure on the Great Lakes, the last journey, and theories on the sinking.
