now available on the Libby App!
Enjoy magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks all in one place. OverDrive is excited to offer OverDrive Magazines, over 4,000 popular titles supplied in partnership with ZINIO and available to read in the Libby App!
OverDrive Magazines have no circulation cap and allow unlimited simultaneous use, so patrons can enjoy every issue of every magazine. With smart tags in Libby, you can be notified when each new issue is released.
What magazines are offered?
- Popular titles such as Us Weekly, National Geographic, Good Housekeeping, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone
- Special interest titles such as PC World, Bon Appetit, Minecraft World, and Women’s Fitness

How do users discover and enjoy OverDrive Magazines?
- One tap to read: When a user discovers a magazine in your collection, they can open it and start reading with one tap, generating a checkout for your library.
- Streamlined access: Magazines will have a new dedicated section of the Shelf, called the Magazine Rack. This will help users find their favorite magazines from your library in one convenient place.
- Easier subscriptions: Users can subscribe to magazines from your library via a new, convenient Subscribe option. When a new issue is released, it will automatically be added to the user’s Magazine Rack and generate a checkout for your library.
- Improved discovery: From their Magazine Rack, users can navigate to the Newsstand, a new view of a user’s recently opened issues and other popular magazine titles in your collection.

Book Packs To Go!
Would you like a library staff member to pick out books for you or your child?
Click on the Book Packs To-Go link that fits your request below and fill out a form. You can list your interests or genre’s you prefer and a staff member will choose up to 10 books that they feel you will enjoy.
Do you like a certain genre or want to learn about a certain subject? Does your child like dinosaurs, fairies, or any other subject? A staff member will choose books to match that subject. The library will put materials on hold for you. When you receive an email, you can pick up your Book Pack To-Go at our drive-through curbside window.
Now Accepting Snow Plow Bids
The Otsego District Library is now accepting bids from licensed and insured plow companies for the entire library parking lot. Plowing is requested for when there are 3 inches of snow or more. When needed, plowing must be done before library opens (9 AM Mon-Sat).
Also accepting bids for sidewalk shoveling: Shovel back staff walkway and areas in the front not plowed out by our snowplows (sidewalks out to the lot and front entry area). Spread salt on sidewalks when icy. Please submit a bid per time. This would be done on an as-needed basis and only upon request by the library.

The Otsego District Library serves 14,230 residents with a budget of $518,000 and a staff of fifteen. In 2009, a beautiful new 18,000 square foot, LEED-Silver Level building opened for service to the community. A dedicated library millage voted in perpetuity provides 75% of the library’s operating revenue. The library has a staff known for its commitment to outstanding customer service and a supportive board that is responsive to the community. Otsego is located in beautiful southwest Michigan, fifteen miles north of Kalamazoo, thirty miles south of Grand Rapids, and only forty minutes from Lake Michigan. THURSDAYS IN AUGUST AT 7 PM
Visit the library FOUR Thursday evenings in August for an outdoor concert on the lawn. (No performance on Thursday, August 29.)
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your family and friends to enjoy some great FREE entertainment. Popcorn provided by the Friends of the Library and bottled water for $1.

MAIN STREET DUELING PIANOS

Joe Laureano has been performing rock & roll professionally his entire adult life. He is well known all across the country and has an impressive repertoire of 1,000+ songs, spanning more than seven decades of music.
OTSEGO JAZZ ENSEMBLE
August 8
These local musicians: five saxes, four trombones, four trumpets, and a full rhythm section will perform music from the big band era. You don’t want to miss this performance of these top notch musicians.
OUT OF FAVOR BOYS
August 15
Out of Favor Boys is one of Southwest Michigan’s premier contemporary blues bands. They’ve been the house band at two of Kalamazoo’s longest-lasting Thursday Blues Jams at Wonderful’s Funky Basement and The 411 Club. The band has had the opportunity to play with some national blues musicians like Tab Benoit, Watermelon Slim and Robert Bradley.
GREAT SCOTT
August 22
If you enjoy the Main Street Dueling Pianos, come back for Joe Laureano’s full cover band, “Great Scott.” Great Scott performs the greatest songs from the 1950’s to the new hits of today. Joe will come with a five piece band. This band is guaranteed to have you laughing, toe-tapping, and dancing along!
The Scholastic Book Fair results are in! Patrons purchased a total of $3,923.66 worth of books from the book fair.
Your purchases resulted in the library earning $1,850.79 in FREE Scholastic Dollars!!
