Dear Otsego Library Patrons,
I am so thrilled to be joining the Otsego District Library as the new Library Director! I have been warmly welcomed in my first month here as Director. I am excited to be a part of a supportive community and look forward to future opportunities for collaboration within the community.
The library is very excited to announce our newest toddler program. Toddler Time is an interactive early childhood program for children age 0-5 years old and their parents. Come to the library each Friday from 9:30am - 11:30am to participate in learning activities from alphabet recognition to physical coordination.
Did you know that Otsego has an Ice Skating Rink!?!? We do! It is all thanks to the Otsego Main Street Volunteers! So bring your friends and family down to the ice skating rink located next to the Otsego Museum on North Farmer Street.
Wayne Rayburn has brought in an amazing collection electronic trains for the library's display case. Wayne has been collecting trains since he was a child. His collection not only consists of trains but the tracks, greenery, and everything else that you would need to experience electronic trains. Stop by the display case to see his collection.
So many of our wonderful community friends and neighbors gathered downtown Otsego for an evening filled with holiday cheer! The Otsego Meistersingers performed two classic holiday songs as the crowd gathered around the tree. The honor of lighting the tree went to our service men and women, recently serving and currently home. As the tree was lit, the entire crowd erupted with applause and a smile was on every face. The attendees and the Otsego choir then sang Christmas carols. Many of the downtown businesses were open for business and provided hot drinks and even cookies!
Stan McNees has brought in his collection of miniature toy soldiers for display at the library. Stan is retired and has perfected this craft for the past 26 years, and he loves to shar it with others. Be sure to take a look at his amazing collection next time you're here--it's located in the front hallway display case.
